 Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi (circa 1386 – December 13, 1466), also known as Donatello, is an early Renaissance Italian artist and sculptor. He is considered to be the artist that helped make the transition between classicism and the Renaissance.





 Gattamelata was the first equestrian statue to be displayed in a public Italian piaza. This bronze sculpture by Donatello can be found in the Piazza del Santo, Padua, Italy.
